Paiste to Launch Several New Signature Series Models

The renowned Swiss cymbal maker Paiste announces a significant expansion of the Signature Series, to be unveiled at the 2008 Winter NAMM show. The Signature Series was originally introduced in 1989, when Paiste created an entirely new class of cymbals from its patented Signature Bronze alloy, which the company developed specifically for cymbal sound. Conceived and executed according to uncompromising sound concepts, Signature Cymbals are instruments of unsurpassed quality that have captured the hearts and imagination of countless drummers and percussionists in the past two decades.
The Crystal Thin in 16", 18" & 20" and the Crystal Hats in 14" feature the unique bell shape that was a Paiste innovation with the Sound Creation Mellow Crash in the late 1970s. The distinctive design allows the creation of cymbals with a beautifully sweet, silvery, warm and silky sound character and a high degree of responsiveness and control.
The Cool Bell in 8" is a complete re-design of the long running Bell model. The new model takes full advantage of the Signature Bronze sound potency, and the resulting sound character gains mysteriously icy, shimmering and enveloping harmonic layers.
The Reflector Heavy Full Crash in 16", 17", 18", 19", 20" and 22" offers the best of both worlds for players that were forever caught in the dilemma between the beauty of a Full Crash and the strength of a Power Crash. This is a perfectly strong, explosive, durable and cutting crash model that's musically full, warm and sparkling at the same time.
The Reflector Heavy Full Hi-Hat in 14" was designed as a counterpart to the Reflector Heavy Full Crash. As such, this very balanced model offers the responsiveness and control of a medium weight Hi-Hat yet features consistent cutting power and strength and a fairly dirty, full, barking and piercing sound character.
The Reflector Splash in 8" & 10" is an addition to the program that provides at once a bright and shiny appearance and the slightly equalized harmonics and glassiness of the Reflector Finish.
With the introduction of the new Signature models, Paiste also launches a new piece of literature for the Signature family of cymbals. Top Paiste Artists endorsing the series are dispersed throughout the new brochure that features an in-depth presentation of all the Signature family cymbals.
Signature cymbals are entirely made by hand in Switzerland using traditional methods that have remained unchanged in over half a century. Reflector is a trade-marked, proprietary surface treatment technology that was developed by Paiste in the 1980s to create cymbals with a brilliant finish that is applied entirely by hand, thus avoiding the adverse effects of polishing agents and buffing heat.
