EL CAJON, Calif. - April 21, 2009 - The Magazine Publishers of America (MPA) has nominated Taylor Guitars and its advertising agency, Vitrorobertson, as a Kelly Award finalist for its "All Original" advertising campaign. The 2008 ads highlighted the SolidBody's innovation and all-original Taylor-made components with statements like,"We've always believed that to be great, you have to be original, even if you're a knob," and "The problem with pre-existing parts is that they were made for pre-existing guitars."
Now in their 28th year, the Kelly Awards are bestowed annually to agency creative teams and advertising clients whose magazine campaigns demonstrate both creative excellence and effectiveness in meeting campaign objectives. Chosen from thousands of entries, Taylor Guitars is one of 27 finalists selected as Kelly Award nominees, which also include such iconic brands as American Express, AT&T, ESPN, Harley-Davidson and MasterCard Worldwide. Finalists are eligible to win the Grand Prize, Gold Kelly or Silver Kelly Award for excellence. Finalists are also recognized in the categories of Best Magazine Ads by Size, including "Full Page" and "Spread," as well as for "Best Integrated" and "Best Public Service" campaigns.
The Kelly Awards committee invites members of the public to vote for their favorite ad campaigns by visiting www.mag-ads.com. Winners will be announced mid-June. To learn more, please visit http://www.magazine.org/advertising/kelly_awards/index.aspx.
