(Press Release | Posted 2009-11-04)
STOW, OH, November 2, 2009 — Audio-Technica, a leading innovator in transducer technology for over 45 years, is proud to be an integral part of the stage setup of rockers Daughtry, led by frontman Chris Daughtry. The group’s 2006 self-titled RCA debut was the fastest selling debut rock album in Soundscan history, and their 2009 follow-up Leave This Town debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 in its first week in the U.S., scoring Daughtry two consecutive #1 albums. The band’s muscular mix of modern rock, hard rock, alternative and post-grunge has been delighting their millions of fans on concert stages around the world.
Daughtry’s Audio-Technica microphone list is extensive. Chris Daughtry uses Audio-Technica’s acclaimed Artist Elite® 5000 Series UHF Wireless System with the AE6100 Hypercardioid Dynamic Handheld Microphone and AEW-T6100 Transmitter for his lead vocals. The band also uses a wide array of A-T wired mics, including dual ATM650 Hypercardioid Dynamic Instrument Microphones for snare (top and bottom); AE5100 Cardioid Condenser Instrument Microphones for hi-hat and ride; AE3000 Cardioid Condenser Instrument Microphones for rack and floor toms; AT4050 Multi-Pattern Condenser Microphones for overheads; ATM250 Hypercardioid Dynamic Instrument Microphone for the bass cabinet; and AE2500 Dual-Element Cardioid Instrument Microphones for guitar cabinets.
Front-of-House (FOH) engineer Morgan Russell, best known for his work with Kittie, Shadows Fall, Hawthorne Heights and Damage Plan, states, “When you have a world-class performer on stage, a world class mic is the only thing that will do. I consider the AE6100 the best vocal mic on the market.” Chris Daughtry echoes Russell’s sentiment: “This microphone is always reliable and provides great clarity!”
The next leg of Daughtry’s North American tour will continue to crisscross the continent through the end of the year. Please visit www.daughtryofficial.com and www.audio-technica.com for more information.
