Steve Miller's Third Signature Martin

Martin has introduced Steve Miller’s third signature guitar, the 000C MR. The two previous signatures the 0037K SM, and the 000C were quite popular. The new signature is similar to the previous OOOC also known as the “Pegasus.” All of Miller’s signatures utilize different and non-traditional types of tonewoods. The 0037KSM has Koa back and sides and an Engelmann Spruce top, the 000C has Mahogany back and sides and an Engelmann top. The new 000C-MR uses big leaf Maple back and sides and an Adirondack Spruce top. Unfortunately the guitar has a red finish over all the wood so the grain in the wood is all but invisible.
The 000 body has a soft cutaway, bone nut and saddle, black ebony fingerboard, and the same beautiful inlay on the headstock as the previous signature models. It has a beautiful abalone style 45 Rosette. There is no inlay on the fingerboard but has a grained ivoroid binding. It uses the nice nickel open geared tuners and comes with Fishman Matrix Infinity onboard electronics.
I’m not sure why Steve Miller is associated with these beautiful acoustic instruments because his success was largely made from an electric guitar. This bigger bodied Maple and Adirondack guitar will make quite a bright sounding instrument, but like the 0037KSM will be a fantastic fingerstyle instrument but will be too bright for a bassy flatpicker.
The guitar has an MSRP of $6499 and includes a Geib style hard case. It is also available in a left handed model for no extra charge.
