Fender introduces Dick Dale Signature Malibu Acoustic/electric

No kahuna wants to get sand and salt in his guitar, but surf guitar legend Dickie Dale hangs 10 to the beat of a different drummer. He's just as likely to take a guitar to the beach as Elvis was to have peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Fender recently introduced the affordable limited-edition Dick Dale Malibu acoustic electric, available with custom graphics. The new Fender Dick Dale Signature Malibu™ SCE is an upscale version of the guitar that still has a distinctive look and some nice upgrades. Designed by Dale himself, this cutaway acoustic electric is gloss-finished in hot “Surfin’ Red” and features dual matching pickguards, a 3” body depth for a more comfortable playing and less feedback when plugged in, a Fishman® pickup system with onboard tuner and the traditional Dale reverse headstock.
Made with a solid mahogany top and mahogany back and sides with a gloss Polyurathane finish, the Malibu SCE has a traditional Fender acoustic body with a deep cutaway for easy access to the higher frets. Scalloped X bracing and the reduced body depth combine to reduce feedback
The maple "C"-shaped neck has a rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets and Fender machine heads with vintage aged-white plastic tuners in the reverse headstock. A rosewood bridge with a compensated saddle improves intonation. The
Fishman® Presys™ Pickup System with active onboard preamp features which Volume, an integrated tuner with On/Off Switch, Bass, Mid, and Treble controls and a Phase,
an Low Battery indicator light, all side mounted for easy viewing and adjustment.
