Planet Waves just announced the newly revamped ProTempo metronome application for iPhone and iPod Touch users. Redesigned by Audiofile Engineering, creators of Chrodmaster and FiRe – Field Recorders, ProTempo now features a hyper-accurate timing, high-quality drum sounds along with tempo presets and precise control of rhythmic accents, meters and subdivisions.
The ProTempo metronome app can be a very convenient tool whether you are recording, composing or recording. You can dial-up a basic click-based tempo using the Tap touch screen feature, or create and save your own rhythm patterns using ProTempo’s detailed controls. Sound samples can be assigned and balanced within a single pattern. The Trainer is definitely its coolest feature. With adjustable settings for difficulty and sensitivity, the Trainer listens to your playing and indicates how accurately you're hitting each beat.
Here is a break down of its new features:
• Hyper-accurate timing
• Set tempos numerically or with tap-tempo
• Create and save unique tempo profiles for individual songs
• 16 high-quality sounds and instrument samples
• Precise control of rhythmic accents, meters and subdivisions
• Customize sounds and settings for each note in a pattern
• Conductor screen with visual bounce and flash cues
• Adjustable "Trainer" for play-along practice
