Exotic Erotic Ball and Expo Offers their Stages to Independent Musicians

For 30 years now, headline acts like Joan Jett, Chris Isaak, Grace Jones, Greg Allman, George Clinton, Thomas Dolby, and Everclear have all played from one of the many stages at “The Exotic Erotic Ball and Expo,” along with untold numbers of celebrity guests, pop culture icons, and the world’s top burlesque, fetish, and novelty acts. AC/DC would be proud of the size of “The Ball’s” five stages of entertainment that it hosts every year, and over the past four years one of those stages has been made available to two brand new, unsigned, independent bands with a flair for entertainment. Just submit a press kit to Sonicbids via the link and you’ll be instantly entered to win. I don’t need to tell you that bands who aren’t wildly entertaining need not apply for a show like this. Just take a look at some of the previous winners…

Groups like CR Gruve, Black Betty and the Bad Habitsand Super Geek League (pictured below) have all had the chance to share the stage with top name acts like Snoop Dogg, Donald Glaude, The Spyderz, Tone Loc, and the creatively named The Impotent Sea Snakes, along with many others. Black Betty’s lead vocalist, Jenny Langer, said playing at “The Ball” was “a true highlight for us that we’ll never forget. That’s one fun and crazy crowd!” Well, what else would you expect from a show as big as this?

Now in it’s 31st year, The Exotic Erotic Ball and Expo has been called a “Celebration of Flesh, Fetish, and Fantasy,” the “World’s #1 Wildest and Sexiest Party” by E! Entertainment TV, the “#1 Adult Festival in the World,” by AskMen.com, and one of the “69 Sexiest Things to Do Before You Die,” by Playboy TV. has again evidenced its longstanding commitment to promoting independent music. Through a partnership with Sonicbids, it is offering two prime-time, full-paying gigs exclusively to Indie artists. To be considered for the gigs, bands must apply by submitting their EPK (Electronic Press Kit) through Sonicbids at Sonicbids on or before September 20, 2010. All entries will be juried, rated and two winners will be chosen to play before thousands of masked, costumed, and otherwise elaborately attired fans at the 2010 Exotic Erotic Ball and Expo, October 22 & 23, 2010, at the San Francisco Bay Area’s newest and most spectacular waterside venue: The Craneway Pavilion. Winners will be notified on September 30th, 2010.

“The Ball is very visible,” says Perry Mann, who organizes the event. “And many bands with sexy lead singers and provocative lyrics feel they fit the show. Many of them do. The problem for us is we receive hundreds of DVD's, CD's, emails, and links. We don’t have the time or manpower to sift through them. But, I am a songwriter myself, and I have a real commitment to Indie music. Our relationship with Sonicbids allows us to manage this function and show that commitment. Every submission gets heard, and it all comes to us online. I look forward to shaking hands with the 2010 winners on stage at the Ball.”
