Korg has released the SV-1 Sound Pack 2 for its acclaimed Stage Vintage (SV-1) Piano. The Sound Pack features a wide assortment of sounds, including many that were inspired by user feedback. Some of these requested sounds include darker tine pianos, an acoustic piano with more sustain and a wider variety of organ sounds. Of special note, for the first time there are split sounds, including left hand basses (a surprise hidden in the ROM, until now). This free, downloadable* Sound Pack is available at www.korg.com/sv1. *Note: Requires SV-1 OS V1.2 or higher
A bevy of nearly 20 artists and composers spanning a wide range of genres were called upon to demo the new sounds, including Russ Ferrante, Jordan Rudess, John Novello and more. These demos and info about the performers can also be found at the website. This is the second release of new sound support for the SV-1, with more planned for the future.
About the Korg SV-1
Available in both 73 and 88-key versions, the Stage Vintage Piano offers 36 of the most in-demand and coveted vintage keyboard sounds, recreated with exacting detail. Decades of electro-mechanical, transistorized, tape-driven, analog and digital legends are included, in addition to a collection of rich acoustic pianos. Crafted using Korg's RX (Real eXperience) Technology, each sound is a detailed and authentic re-creation, accurately capturing the full range of expression and dynamics of the original. The SV-1 also recreates the effect pedals and studio processing that gave these sounds their original luster. The proven, tube-driven (12AX7) Valve Reactor circuit adds warmth and realism to period-accurate amplifier models. Together, the three-band EQ, Pre-FX, Modulation FX and Reverb/Delay add yet another dimension of authenticity.
