Alesis Introduces DM6 USB Express Kit(mtebaldi | Posted 2010-10-09)
 Is the end goal for Alesis affordability? By taking some stuff out, putting some stuff in, Alesis rearranged they DM6 Electronic drumkit configuration and is introducing a compact version of it, the DM6 USB Express Kit. As implied by the “Express”, Alesis is cutting the price on this newly compacted version of the DM6.
Featuring the same drum module (DM6) as well as the same drum pad types and hardware, what makes this DM6 version more compact and affordable ($399 instead of $499) is the reduction of drum and cymbal pads. The DM6 Express is a 4 piece kit (rubber pads) with two cymbals. The DM6 USB Kit comes as a 5 piece kit with 3 cymbals. Alesis is pushing to offer one of the most affordable electronic kits in the market with this release. A nice feature of the DM6 Express is the inclusion of Toontrack’s EZ Drummer Lite allowing the user to experiment with the sounds of the module and explore MIDI sounds from the computer. The DM6 USB Express Kit is an affordable practice/beginners e-kit.
