Ibanez introduces new Steve Vai acoustic models
(Dave Molter | Posted 2011-01-22)
Although guitarist Steve Vai is noted most for his electric guitar pyrotechnics, even a smoking rocker has to mellow out at times. The Ibanez Steve Vai acoustics prove this. For 2011, Ibanez introduces two new Steve Vai Signature Euphoria acoustic guitar models.
Both models feature solid Engelmann spruce tops, mahogany necks, and a special thin body that is designed for comfort. The EP10 ($1,499.99 MSRP) showcases a “Tree of Life” inlay, an original metal plate rosette, and a Fishman® Aura® IC preamp with 4 pre-set images, customized specifically for Steve Vai.
The EP5 ($749.99 MSRP) has a special “Vai” 12th fret inlay and Fishman® Sonicore® pickup, featuring an Ibanez AEQ210TF preamp, designed for thin bodied acoustic applications.
Whether played solo or in the context of a band, Euphoria acoustics offers the perfect sound to complement any music that calls for an acoustic treatment.

Ibanez Guitars has a long history dating back to Japan in 1908. The company initially gained a foothold in the US with a line of guitars patterned after popular models by Fender and Gibson. By the mid-1970s, Ibanez had begun to produce unique designs and was among the first companies to premiere a line of neck-through basses with active EQ. Today Ibanez guitars are used by high-profile players such as Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, and its basses continue to offer upscale features and looks at affordable prices.
