VOX Debuts USA Custom Guitars

In 1957 VOX kicked off its line of guitar amplifiers and it only took a few years for the AC15 and AC30 to become instant legends, defining the sound of the British Invasion for the UK and the world. VOX is very well established and is looking to forge forward with a line of custom made guitars for April 2011.
VOX Guitars’ G-Rok R&D facility in Novato, California, USA, will begin offering exquisitely handcrafted electric guitars on a limited production basis. Established in 2007 to focus on development of a new generation of VOX electric guitars, G-Rok R&D created the current award-winning lineup of solid and semi-hollow instruments, driven by innovation in design, ergonomics, pickups and hardware.
The custom guitars will be made one at a time, using a single luthier from start to finish, with the customer receiving not only a true handcrafted instrument, but an instrument that is meticulously constructed by hand in the USA.
Customers will have their choice of four contemporary VOX body styles along with a wide variety of neck, body and fingerboard woods, inlay choices and finishes. To complete the customization, a choice of VOX CoAxe or DiMarzio Three-90 pickups along with Vox’s own hardware will be available.
Rich Lasner, VP of Development said, “The build quality is second to none and materials are hand selected from the highest quality tone woods.”
Initially available only within the USA, the VOX custom shop guitar program will be available internationally progressively throughout 2011.
A few VOX artists you probably recognize include: Claudio Sanchez from Coheed and Cambria, Chad Kroeger and Ryan Peake from Nickelback, Jeff Beck, Jim Root from Slipknot, Tommy Shaw from Styx and Chris Henderson from 3 Doors Down.
Customers in the USA can contact VOX at 631-390-8737 for more information, or visit www.voxamps.com.
