Alfred releases Drumset for Beginners

Alfred’s ever-growing catalogue of music educational material has just been expanded by the release of Drumset for Beginners. Created by Paul Hose and Jim Farey, the book teaches beginner drum students through a simplified yet effective way of approaching the kit. It features music theory, rudiments, and interpretation and independence exercises, as also gives space to beginners to explore their creativity within the various cornerstone lessons found on the book. Drumset for Beginners also features supplementary materials, so students can further develop their skills once the basics are mastered. The included MP3 CD gives the student direct inspiration, and the play-along tracks are excellent as goal and progress indicators for students and teachers.

As an educator Paul Hosa has taught and given lectures (in a clinic environment) in his native UK and in Spain, Singapore and Brazil. Paul’s live work includes television broadcast productions, arena shows, festivals, touring theatre shows and much more. Paul has worked with a host of artists from across the musical spectrum including Sarah Jory, The English National Ballet, Grammy award winning Tom Chapin, producer Steve Chapin and guitar virtuoso, Lee Wrathe and he continues to work with the A1 Events production, “To be Frank,” a tribute to Sinatra and the Rat Pack under the musical direction of Matt Stacey. Jim Farey is a private drum teacher and performer based in Nottingham, UK.
Besides been involved with world class teachers like Paul Hose and Dom Famularo and Jim is also a full time staff member at Nottingham's MLC Academy where he maintains a busy teaching schedule.
