Alvarez 5034 Reviews 5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsPurchased the guitar new from an Alvarez authorized dealer in December of 1980 in Indiana. At the time I was just learning the six string from a friend who had an older Alvarez that sounded fantastic! I had played a few Gibson and Yamaha acoustics, but the Alvarez blew them away! Paid $409 which included a strap and a handful of picks. I'll never part with my 5034. Since then I have purchased a DY70 Yairi in December of 1996 and I love them both.
The instrument gets better with age. The more you play...the better it sounds. Just like a violin.
No dislikes at all. It's the best acoustic I've ever played.
Maple back and sides with a solid spruce top. Rosewood neck. Solid rosewood bridge. It's a flawless instrument in construction, quality and pride.
I'm very pleased with the guitar which I have owned for 23 years. Like I say, I'll never part with my 5034. It was money well spent in 1980 and I look forward to many more years of enjoyment with such a fine instrument. Dale rated this unit on 2004-01-04.
