I was watching the television one night and saw the Esteban guitar commercial. I was only partly interested and moved on. At the time it seemed to be more of a gimick or a mere curiousity, than anything serious. My brother in law, had a guitar at one time. I had also learned to play a little in middle school. It was only much later, after seeing the commercial again, that I took a more serious tenor to it, and watched the thing through to find out more abou it.
Well, after much deliberations and mulling it over. I decided it seemed harmless enough to buy it, so I did. I ordered it on May 9th and it arrved here on Jun 3rd. I paid the 1 piece full payment. About USD$200.oo.
It's a simple guitar, not complicated like an electric would be. And to get a good electric you would have to shell out a great deal of money. The guitar itself, amp, picks, strings, case, straps, cables, tuner, care items, etc. Total cost about USD$1,000.oo.
For a beginner this is not a real good way to start, as most people don't just have a grand to throw around... I know I don't. What I like about this, is you get "all you need" in one easy package. I know that there are persons, whom will argue on this point most strongly, but from a beginners point of view, this seems to be reasonable.
It's not like I'm going to the studio, to record an album, for release in a few weeks. So something for a beginner seems more level and prudent. The guitar has a good fit and finish, or maybe I just got lucky and mine is one of the nicer ones. It has good sound to me. It doesn't sound bad at all.
As a music 'buff' I know what good music should sound like...
When the guitar kit came, the most obvious thing was the DVD's were loose. And the concert disc 2 is scratched and can't be played. The disc was loose in the 2 disc case. The strap for the case is not at the same quality level of the strap for the guitar itself. And, the case has some internal flaws, but it's not enough to upset me. Additionally, the website promised a bonus CD, I never was given that. The website said that would be a free bonus...
I don't want people to get the wrong idea here. The guitar is NOT a piece of crap. It's really nice. I intend to learn on it, and purchase other items. Stand and so on.

The construction has little to do with it. If you want a Fender or Gibson, go buy one. It's that simple. Thie is also NOT a 'First Act' guitar either.
The guitar is made of real wood. It's fit and finish are not bad, for the price. It's not a show guitar, but for a basic home novice, it will do very nicely.
It came with the steel strings on it. they were wrapped in light tissue paper. The guitar itself, was in the case, and that was in plastic bag of reasonable quality. It was also boxed nicely. Inside the case is the compartment, which holds the amp cable, strings, picks, polishing cloth and straps.
I did purchase the tuner, it was worth it. I did tune the guitar easily and quickly. It was a little off from tuned, but not much.
Guitar itself, 5. Not bad for the money, and has good sound and appearance.
Case, get's a 4. Some very minor flaws. Adhesive and sewing flaws. None that affect the performance of the case.
Accessories, 5. The kit is complete as it was advertised. I've heard rumors of 'false ad' on this, that ISN'T true, of my puchase.
Manuals/books, paperwork, in the case front zipper pocket.
Overall value = 4.9... It's ok to buy this.
