Esteban Steel String Guitar Reviews 2 / 5 based on 4 reviewsHSN TV Informercials
$150
Picks, cds, instructional videos and everything except the guitar.
Almost everyone that said this stuff is a junk is right. There is not even a perfect part on this guitar. I'm surprised there are 6 strings and a soundhole. I almost toss it into garbage until I found out someone would even buy it for $25.
Is this guitar real? I mean, let's face it, is it even a guitar?
I did a little investigation on the makers of these guitars and found out that these guitars were made by factories in China, probably for $10/ea by bulk. Esteban is smart but not that smart to pay thousands of dollars on making commercials and appearing on HSN. Guitarist just like you rated this unit on 2004-09-18. Purchased through ebay for $58.00
Great for a starter acoustic guitar. Not too many parents (like us) want to invest in an expensive guitar for a preteen who wants to try guitar lessons. Rental is silly in this case!
There is a small chip in the unit that does not affect the play.
Size is a little large for my child (12 y.o.).
Construction seems fair, although just about what I expected for the price.
Really, a hard shelled bag, two instruction videos, a CD, pics, straps, and the tuner would cost at least $75.00 at my local music store, not counting the guitar. If you can get this one for less than $75.00, I'd suggest it's not a bad deal at all. If I get 6 months to a year of use out of it, I'll be happy.
I asked my child's (professional musician) guitar teacher if it was worth the price. He thought it looked just fine for a beginner, and even thought it looked as good as his own $400. guitar. He tuned it and it kept its tune quite nicely throughout the lesson (45 mins.). guitarmom rated this unit on 2004-01-02. Infomercial / 18004711926

Sounded like a good deal on tv...
Nothing
I played it once, it sounded decent, but alas I returned the unit because I know it was gonna warp.
Its cheap thin wood.. the necks not all rosewood, the fretboard is like plywoood or something, the body is like cardboard. The paint job is blotchy and touched up, and the varnish spotty.
Dont buy this.. or any other crap from infomercials. Nateba rated this unit on 2003-11-10. Guitar was purchased thru the HSN (Home Shopping Network). Total cost was $97.00
Nothing.
Guitar was fine when first used..after one month the neck developed a slight compound warp that could not be corrected. It was taken to a guitar repair expert who stated that the suitar was very poorly made...the neck surface was made of a thin piece of plywood (not rosewood), and then painted black. If you look closely you can the many imperfections. Also the area around the sound hole appears to have a slight depression. In my opinion a very inferior made instrument.
Poor quality construction. Plywood used for the neck suface and poorly painted. You can see the paint runs.
The strings are about 1/2 inch above the neck at the 19th fret because neck warp...
Not recommended. You can purchase a much better guitar for the same price...I ended up doing just that. Richard. C rated this unit on 2003-08-28.
