Ibanez AW10-NT Reviews 5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsI bought this guitar brand new for a little under $200 here, in the Philippines. I tried out a few other guitars but the sound and feel of this one blew me away.
The price is so low, you'd think they were kidding. Great fit and finish--couldn't find any flaws. Notes come alive during single string picking with a pick. Chords sound full and balanced. Damn good projection. Great feel, low action.
The action was set up too low. There was buzzing even with moderate strumming. Although this was greatly reduced when I put medium strings. This sacrificed playability a bit but the sound became a lot fuller.
The peg for the strap is plastic (white plastic)--Looks cheap but frankly, that's the only edge most guitars priced more than double have over this one.
Like I said, I couldn't find any flaws construction wise. It's got a solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides rosewood fingerboard and a mahogany neck. At this price range, you'd expect some kind of spam-wood but not here. I really don't know how they could make it this good without pricing it much higher.
Bottom Line: I'd pay $400-500 for this. It's a no-nonsense great feeling, great sounding dreadnaught. Judas rated this unit on 2004-02-19.
