Takamine Jasmine ES312 Reviews
5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsI got this instrument from a friend of mine who basically decided that he had too many guitars. I paid $200 for the guitar and a chipboard case. He also said that he would give me his 12-string capo if he ever found it. The purchase was made in Lawrence, Kansas, and I had been wanting to get a good 12 string for some time.
It has good, solid construction. This unit is a few years old, but it still looks like new, and it just about plays like a brand new instrument too. This guitar will last if you take care of it. It is an A/E, and the pickups are very clear. You actually hear the strings over the amp, rather than just hearing noise that kind of sounds like notes. The tuners are still great, and I can't tell you enough how great if feels to just hold this thing and play it! It sounds as good as it looks!
The only thing that I can find wrong with it is really pretty minor. On the bass end of the neck, there is very slight warping. I could have this taken care of for five dollars at the nearest guitar shop, but it's so minor that I don't really care.
This guitar is solid! I love to just pick it up, even if I don't have time to play it. It is a heavy guitar, and it's tough too. Over the years that it's been around, it's managed to stay in mint condition aside from a tiny white mark where some one obviously hit a plasterboard wall with it. I have no complaints.
I love this guitar. Dollar for dollar, it is the best of my six guitars. In fact, it is the best of my six guitars - period. If you get a chance to buy one, do it, and feel sorry for the chump that's letting it go.
