Walden D 351 SR Reviews 4 / 5 based on 1 reviewsWalden is a great company that designs their guitars in America based on popular models and then makes them over seas to keep the prices down. The D 351 SR is a dreadnaught body style from their popular selling standard line.
I was offered this guitar used for $150 with a case. Brand new the guitar is closer to $250, so I was excited for the deal.
Walden guitars make great 'beater' or around the house guitars. It sounds great and plays well and you don't have to worry about dropping a ton of money on a cool guitar.
The only problem is 'what you see if what you get' You are buying a cheap instrument. I really will not become collectible nor does it have a pickup or tuner. The wood is laminate so a good tone is not a 'great' tone, but hey remember this is a cheaper instrument. If that's what you need, this is it!
The top, back and sides of the guitar are composed of laminated mahogany. The guitar is finished in a red finish. The red is transparent and shows some of the wood grain pattern through the finish.
The hardware; nut, bridge pins, saddle and tuners are cheaper quality. The do the job, but could be improved.
Bottom line is this is well worth the $150 I paid on the used market. I wouldn't pay too much more for it, but it makes a great guitar to keep and jam around the house with. Billy rated this unit on 2011-11-22.
