Yamaha fg460-sa Reviews 5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsI purchased my fg460 for under $400 at a local music store about 10 years ago. It was my first and is still my only acoustic guitar. At the time of purchase, I played $1000+ guitars and I played $100 guitars. None sounded or played better than the fg460.
Sound, sound, sound. Maybe I just lucked out, but in 10 years, the only other acoustic I've tried that compares is a Martin. I had a Fishman active pickup installed and have used this guitar for 95% of my band's recordings and 100% of my gigs. The guitar is a workhorse. The tuners are great quality, very tight. Also, the finish has been quite durable.
The only small complaint I have about this guitar is size of the sound hole. It's slightly bigger than every brand of soundhole cover available, so they float a bit. I know, I'm knit-picking.
Extremely well made and durable. Mine has been through the mill and back, and still looks, plays, and sounds great!!!
It's not very often that you can find an instrument for under $400 that sounds and plays better than ones costing upwards of $1000. It has been worth every penny! Ron Smith: Trippin on Dolls rated this unit on 2002-11-02.
