Hands-on review: ZVEX Effects Fuzz Probe

I ordered this from a local store called Kingston Sound Works. It took a long time, and it's a long story, but I'm reviewing the preamp and not the store so it doesn't matter. It cost $240 CAD.

I love that it doesn't colour my sound when the EQ is flat. Flat, it sounds like my bass in passive mode, only louder. Bass boost is big, round, and smooth. I love it! The mid sweep knob is very useful. Incredible variety in the sound.

The wiring diagram that comes with this is missing the last page with the options for the mids, but it's on the PDF file on their website (www.aguilaramp.com).

Faaaantastic. High quality stuff, the entire thing is in a small black plastic box no wider than a pick.

This is a fantastic preamp -- a little pricy, but wholly worth it in my opinion.
