Hands-on review: ZVEX Effects Fuzz Probe

Bought from local music store. $350 Canadian.

Excellent pick-ups. Allows for a wide variety of tones, from Jazz to Metal. Looks nice (transparent blue, black headstock, gold hardware), stays in tune well, and very cost effective.

A little too much fret buzz on the lower register. I find that you have to set the action too high to avoid it, making the use of the upper register uncomfortable. Also, as with all Jay Turser instruments, the frets protrude from the fingerboard too much, which can shred your fingers to shit.

Well constructed, but the truss rod is hard to adjust.

Good for a first instrument, but as you gain more experience, I suggest moving up to move professional models
