Mighty Mite MM2907 P-bass Neck Reviews 5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsThis is the 20 fret maple neck built by Mighty Mite to be used as a Fender Precision replacement neck.
Want to built your own bass? Want to replace the old, tired, worn neck on your P-bass? Mighty Mite has got your back! They even make fretless boards so, no need to go all Jaco Pastorius and ruin the resale value of your bass, unless you play like Jaco, then you can do whatever to your bass!
I've owned 3 of these necks and suggest them often to my fellow bass friends. My first I ordered online. Just shy of $100 shipped.
It's a DIY project. Add your own finish, nut and tuners. That means you aren't paying for anything you don't want.
I rubbed some semi-gloss Tung Oil on mine. A few coats of that and you are good to go.
Drilling holes for tuners and a neck pocket is a very daunting task, but everyone's instrument is different, so I am glad the company didn't pre-drill, but it is nerve racking.
Go slow!
Canadian maple has never looked so good! The neck is built after a Fender so, close your eyes and it's a Fender. The headstock is even very close to the Fender.
The neck pocket fit, fits like a glove. I've installed these necks on Squiers, Mighty Mite bodies and an American Fender Precision.
$100 gets you a great neck. Don't settle for old buzzing frets or sky high action. Mighty Mite is a great direct Fender replacement neck. Billy rated this unit on 2011-01-11.
