Neophyzix Q-tuner BL High Z Pickups Reviews  5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsI purchased this pickup from an internet site: www.q-tuner.com The reason I bought it, is that I was very impressed by the sound demo available there. This unit is selling for $200. I could return it in case I didn't like it.
The sound of this pickup is very transparent and organic. Yes, the high frequency response of this thing is incredible; IMO "Hi-Fi" is the best description. What I noticed in particular, however, is the dynamic response. Dynamite! It's a pup one have to get used to. This pup is unlike anything else I've tried in the past. I can recommend this product to any serious bass player out there.
I have to get used to the way this thing looks. It's in a clear enclosure so that you can see the coils and magnets inside. As a consequence, you have to buy two in order to get the visual appearance right.No offence.
The pickup is of sturdy construction. All parts are sealed in some resin, epoxy I guess. The coil leadouts are special; silver wire! Perhaps a little overkill on this point.
To summarize my thoughts; great product. It sounds wonderful! Dale Walsh rated this unit on 2004-01-15.
