Pyramid Gold Flatwound Bass Strings Reviews 2 / 5 based on 1 reviewsPurchased these because I hated the roundwound strings that came on my Hofner Icon and heard that McCartney used Pyramids on his Hofner.
Purchased from Juststrings.com $71 for the four-string set.

I did not like these strings at all, despite having seen them recommended by many players for Hofner Beatle basses. The G string was dead, and when I contacted Pyramid, they refused to do anything about it, claiming that they%27d never had complaints. I %27solved%27 the problem by replacing the G with a three-year-old TI Jazz Flat that sounded better than the new Pyramid D, A and E.
Didn%27t like the sound or the fact that Pyramid support was non-existent.
Since the G string was dead right out of the package, I can%27t say much about quality control or construction. Something went wrong but Pyramid refused to acknowledge it.
My experience with Pyramid bass strings was terrible. I didn%27t like the sound and the G string was dead and refused to tune harmonics correctly. I'll admit my experience is outweighed by positive comments about Pyramids that I've seen online, but I'd recommend either Rotosound nylon tapewounds or the LaBella Beatle Bass Flats over Pyramids.
