Hands-on review: ZVEX Effects Fuzz Probe

Purchase of Ebay for $300 CDN.Mann amps were built by Garnet amplifiers out of Winnipeg ,Manitoba,Canada.Had always wanted a tube amp and the price was right.

Nice warm tube sound.Definetly different than my Behringer BX300 solid state.Two inputs with tone controls pull brite/bass-boost/mid-boost controls. 2 X 12ax7, 2 X 6V6,1 x 15" speaker(appears to be the original). Even with the Behringers excellent shape function its hard to get the exact sound of the Mann.With the bright knob pulled out the mids and hi's are perfect.Definetly loud enough for rehersal or small gigs.

Only thing is the weight.At about 60lbs its not light and puts up a good fight to get it it the trunk.

Excellent condition,built like a tank, nice and solid.

Glad I bought it.Offers other tonal possibilities to my gear.May change the speaker down the road just to see if a modern design will add something.My Ibanez SR490 & Jazz bass sound great thru it but my Univox 4001 copy really shines(shades of Rush's first two albums).May change the speaker down the road just to see if a modern design will add something.
