Sabian B8 Cymbal Pack Reviews
5 / 5 based on 2 reviewsive played piano for 11 years, percussion for about 6 and drumkit for about 4 or 5. i play mostly jazz, funk, brasilian and afrocuban drumset and percussion. i use all my equipment both for percussion and drumkit applications. i play in a bigband, a jazz quartet, a concert band, a symphonic orchestra, a celtic band, a few random pop/rock bands for fun, various percussion ensembles, various musical bands (footloose, urinetown), and a few other random bands for occasions.
i purchases this set, which included 14in hats, 16 and 18in crashes, and 20in ride from a shop called drummers headquarters in missouri. i live in australia, but i payed 219 dollars (US), and obvious some shipping charges.
the price is obvious great firstly. the cymbals are all good quality and are surpirior to their zildjian equivilants (ZBT). they can be applied to anything from jazz, to rock, to brasilian and funk, and also in percussion set ups. the 18in crash is excellent, and the 16in crash and ride also sound great.
the only problem i had with this set was the hihats. the are thinner than i usually play and therefor where A BIT tin-sounding. opening and closing them also bought new sound problems and as a result i play/played sabian ProSonix 14in hihats sometimes in some situations instead.
construction and quality are great, all details are as good as you could hope for.
the sabian B8 pack is suited to drummers and percussionists from students all the way to proffessionals. they arent expensive at all, and dont sacrafice much sound quality. if your concerned about sound to much and are a recording drummer you way want to replace your hihats eventually. the other cymbals are all great.

I got these symbols for my birthday and they were purchased at a Guitar Center in Virginia for $190.00 for the pack witch included 14" hats, 16" crash, and 20" ride PLUS a free 14" crash symbol.
I was very impressed with these symbols. I had previously played other low-end symbols bye Zildjian but they dont even come close to the quality of these symbols. The hi-hats have a very nice 'crunch' when closed and an awsome 'swishy' sound when played open. The 14" and 16" crashes are loud, cutting, and bright and the 20" ride is very thick sounding and has great volume. Awsome looks, as well.
There really isnt anything I dont like about these symbols other than...nothing.
These are very well made symbols. I have had them for over a year and I have definately put them through hell, but I have yet to see one dent or major scratch on them.
The Sabian B8 symbols are worth the money. If I would have known that they sounded so good, I would have expected them to charge twice the price.
