Pearl Forum FX725 Drum Set Reviews
5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsI bought this drum set from marsmusic.com for about $550. The reason I bought it is because I spent a lot of time reading reviews of other sets, and this one seemed to have the best quality for the price for a beginner set. Also it included cymbals, a drum throne, sticks, and even a video, so it pretty much has everything you need to get started playing.
The things I liked about this set were that it includes everything you need in one package. This makes it very easy for beginners to get started, because instead of trying to figure out what you need to buy you get it all in one set. Also buy getting everything in one package it keeps the price down quite a bit, so for someone like me, who is just starting out, it makes the decision to actually buy a drum set much easier.
Well there really isn't anything I don't like about this drum set. The only thing I kind of don't like is the sound of the Crash/Ride cymbal, because to me it is really just a crash cymbal, it doesn't work all that well as a ride cymbal. This isn't really a big deal anyway because you only get the crash/ride and a set of high hats, so at some point you will want to purchase another cymbal anyway.
It seems to be very well built, I did have one problem with one of the tuning lugs. I tighted it a bit to tight and it stripped out the threads, but I think that could happen with anything really. The first day I got the set I really pounded hard on all the drums, and everything seemed to hold up very well.
Now I'm not a great a drummer, in fact I've only been playing for a few weeks, but to me this drum set is worth the money. I think it sounds good and it seems very well put together. It probably is not a drum set that someone who has been playing a long time would buy, just because of the simple fact that this is a beginner set. Even though, it is certainly capable of being a set that you would play at a gig.
