Vex Drums 20 Lug Mahogany Plus Drum Set Reviews  5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsI have been playing drums for about 8 years now and I wanted to get my little brother a set for Christmas. I was on Ebay and came across this drum set for $340 shipped. It came with everything a new drummer could want like cymbals, throne, stick bag, extra sticks, cup holder, boom stand, 20 lug bass drum, (just to name a few!) My mouth droped to the floor. I bought my first drum set from Guitar Center and it came out to like $600 and that was 8 years ago. Mine still did not come with all that stuff!!!
I love all the extras and modifications it came with
1. 20 lug bass drum
2. cymbals 1 16" crash, 2 14" hi hats
3. 2 ply reinforcement rings
4. double chain driven bass pedal with a cam plate
5. Throne
6. boom stand
7. all double braced hardware
8. cup holder and stick bag
9. extra sticks
10. Great tuning range
11. Oh yeah, THE PRICE!!!
12. too much to remember, but there was more
The only thing I did not like was the sound from the bass drum. It was a little to boomy. It was easy to fix though. All you have to do is put a small pillow or small blinket in the bass drum and it will give it a great punchy sound.
I was very impressed by the overall quality of the set. I can say without a second thought in my head that these drums easy compare to the Pearl Export and the Tama Rockstar. Need I say more?
If your looking to get a good begginer to intermediate drum set for an amazing price Vex Drums is the way to go. You can find them really cheap on Ebay. They blow Tama and Pearl away from quality to extras to last but not least PRICE! Robert rated this unit on 2003-07-16.
