B.C. Rich N.J. Neck-Thru Series Warlock Reviews
5 / 5 based on 2 reviewsIf you can get past the ridiculous shape, the guitar is actually a really good guitar. The neck-thru construction means that there's very little issues getting up to the higher frets, the mahogany neck and body gave it a very full sound, and the EMGs that were installed give it a super tight sound that's perfect for metal. While I tend to pref... [read more on Audiofanzine]

Purchased this after a considerable amount of research from Guitar Center in Oxnard CA for a rock bottom price of just under $500 due to a promotional 1 year Anniversary Sale for the store. This price was far below anything I had seen anywhere including e-bay, thus I just couldn't pass it up.
I have always loved Metal and this guitar is about as Metal as you can get! The Neck Thru design gives long sustain and the high quaility humbuckers produce a killer tone similar or better than a Gibson Les Paul Studio. You don't need many pedals or a POD to get a ten-ton sledge hammer punch out of this baby (just a little overdrive to the gain and lookout!). The action is extremely sweet with no buzz on the frets. The diamonds on the frets are cool, but this model comes with the cloud inlays on the frets, which put it over the top in terms of looks pertaining to individual character. I chose the transparent amber color which makes the guitar almost too beautiful to play. You look at the sharp points and sculptured curves of the body as if it were that of Venus. Just an absolute work of art! You have to see it in person the get the full effect, but trust me, once you see it, hold it, play it and hear it, you won't care how much it costs. You'll go to sleep every night thinking of which organ you can sell (go for a kidney) so you can get it ASAP. The price is actually very reasonable, so you won't have to sell a kidney, but it's always an option with musicians! Excellent quality, looks and sound. Your friends will hate you for having this axe and stealing their girlfriends who will be putty in your hands after hearing and seeing you play this sonic beast.
I don't like the fact I waited so long to get it. What a waste of time playing junk guitars. I purchased a Coffin Case for the Warlock and the case doesn't have a storage compartment, so heads-up on this oversight.
The neck and body are one piece of a three piece body. There are two volumn knobs, 1 tone knob and a 3 way pick-up selector. The wood is a hard maple. The Widow headstock with sealed tuners keeps it in tune. It also has a whammy bar. I strongly suggest you go to www.BCRICH.COM for all the exact individual specefications on this model, which are a higher grade than the less expensive BC Rich models. Overall, this is probably the highest quality BC Rich available that isn't a handmade USA guitar (which run $1,500 to $2,500).
If Metal or anything remotely heavy is in your interest to play, this is by far the best bang for your buck. I even considered the new PRS Santana SE model, but it just didn't have the impact the Warlock, N.J. Neck-Thru did on me. This is the type of guitar that commands respect when you walk out on stage or take it out of the case to impress your family/friends. I waited many years to get a new guitar, and this far exceeded my expectations.
