Dean Avalanche Ultra 7 Reviews 5 / 5 based on 2 reviews I got this guitar as a Christmas present at age 11.The gift was bought from Music Music in Bradenton Florida. The reason I wanted this guitar because it was a affordable and from talking to the owner of the store it was a good guitar. My parents paid $300 but it was a package with a amp and gig bag.
There is a lot of things I like about it the basswood body is my favorite body. The chrome hardware gose nice with its color. The 2 Humbucker Pickups are awesome. They have great sound. The maple wood neck is very smooth and is a great color, also great for sliding. Also the Dot inlays are handy to remeber whaich fret is which. Last the fact that it is a nice guitar for a reasonable price.
There is only a few things about this guitar I don't like. One is the wammy bar. When you push it down it loosens the strings causing it to untune. Also if you push the wammy bar down then let up fast, it tenses up the the strings tending them to snap.
This guitar has a great design. Very solid wood. It is very stable. I have had it for a year and it is in perfect shape.
So in con clusion it has a very nice design and frame.Great sound. Has little problems but can be fixed. Last a very long time. And last but not least it is at a very reasonable price Sk8er Boi Kris H rated this unit on 2003-01-22. Victor Litz $399
The neck on this, more than unique, 7 string is mammoth!!! it's a quarter of an inch wider than Ibanez 7 sting necks. The playability is amazing, the back of the neck is flattened to accommodate picking. Plus the Floyd Rose Tremolo unit makes for a nice fell in bending and soloing. The Humbuckers are Bolted directly into the guitar for more resonance. Plus the retail is only $399 for a very well made guitar.
The truss rod mat need adjustment at first, but when it is fixed, the playability will improve.
This unit is very solid and comes in Metallic chrome, the unique pickup mounting is very practical and sounds great.
This guitar is cheap, well built, and i recommend it to someone looking for a new 7 string.
