Douglas Spad Reviews 5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsSo Douglas is a brand of guitars under the umbrella of Agile and SX. They all are exclusive house brands to Rondo Music. Rondo Music started as a music shop right outside of Union NJ and then their guitars took off and they do a huge online business only now.
I wanted to help a friend get the most bang for his buck on a cool stage guitar. He plays covers so the instrument had to be versatile. This guitar does versatility and looks for a low low price of $149.

Wow this guitar has a set neck! Also the coil tapping humbuckers make this guitar a nice pallet of tones from a bluesy Strat tone to a Les Paul's crunch.
Nothing. This guitar needed a good setup and new strings and it played like a gem. Normally I suggest upgrading the pots, but I didn't want to mess with the coil taps and the guitar sounded great right out of the box.
The finish is a bold metallic green. Not many other companies make a green, why? Beats me, green guitars look killer. The 2 octave neck lets you roam all over the frequency spectrum. The balance felt nice, no neck dives. The reverse tuners take a little getting used to, but a few hours with the guitar and you'll get the hang of it.
$150 for a set neck instrument that gives you single coil and humbucker tones? Yes Please! Check out the Douglas Spad. Billy rated this unit on 2011-05-22.
