Fender American Deluxe Toronado Reviews  5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsI've been playing for fifteen years. Have owned Ibanez, Washburn, Charvel, and Ovation guitars.
Right now I have a 1997 Fender USA Strat, a 2002 Fender USA Toronado. I use a 1990 Ibanez RG 550 for shows.
Bought it new from Musicians Friend.
Paid about $950, hard case, leather strap and cable included. Shipping was free.
This guitar rocks pretty hard. I play it through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 410. The guitar is beautiful. Has a Crimson Red transparent finish with black pickguard. Two fender Atomic II humbuckers.
Stays in tune well. Has a warm sound but if you crank the treble a little it screams. I like to use it for my rock to metal riffs. Pickups have a sonic quality to them...that is if played through a tube amp. The bridge is also great for palm muting. Good harmonics too.
Made in USA in Fender's Corona factory.
I also like that this guitar is somewhat rare and unique. I salute Fender for thinking a little outside the box on this guitar.
Uh.....nothing. Well, I don't like playing gigs with it. I only use it in the studio and for jamming at home. I feel like I don't want to bang it up playing shows. I save my old Ibanez for that.
Top notch everything. Electronics, craftsmanship etc...
My friend has a Mexican made Toronado. I think it's a piece of junk. The American Deluxe models are hard to find and pricier, but worth the extra few hundred dollars. theXRC rated this unit on 2008-02-28.
