Fender Highway 1 Strat Reviews 5 / 5 based on 5 reviewsI bought this guitar at a shop in Antwerp for 718 euros wich is a very nice deal in Belgium. I had an affinity squier, wich played smoothly but the pick ups were not that good. I thought the highway 1 would solve this problem and it did.
I like everything about this guitar. The tone is fantastic and it plays like you don't have to do much yourself. The tremolo arm is very sensitive and easy to use once you get used to it. I have a maple neck wich really suites my style of playing. I can almost really sing with this guitar. It also works very well with my pedal board.
I don't like having bought this guitar so late, I wish I got it sooner. The only thing that could be better are the pick ups. They are really good but still there are better ones. But that's probably just because of the reasonable price I payed for it.
Very solid built yet still light in weight with a great tone that caresses your ears! Good sustain!
I think this one of the best deals you can make here in Belgium for a USA made stratocaster! I'd do it again many many times, over and over again. Mitchel rated this unit on 2004-10-10. I got this guitar for £500 which isnt a bad price for it, I bought it in the shop as oppoesed tot he net but i could have saved aother £20 on the net. I bought it because i like and wanted a 60's reissue strat, but for a small price more i could have effectively teh same guitar, but whith a american series body, so i plumbed out for it.
I play blues rock, like Clapton, Hendrix SRV and this guitar is a blues machine. It has also sounded good for metal.
When adjustting the individual saldles on th trem, moving them backwards and fowards, you need a small philips-head screwdriver which I found difficult to find.
Excelent quality, the machine heads have varying stiffness but thats easily adjusted.
Bloody amazing, If stolen i would hunt teh robber down and insert every piece violently up his rectum, and then buy a new one. A good buy for all you Clpaton, Hendrix and SRV fans out there. I like the fact that it's "Made in the USA". It says that on the headstock and that's important to me. It's all American Quality, it has a tight neck pocket and a great neck. I love the tone. The neck is the American Standard Neck. My guitar is flawless. My color is Sapphire Blue and it looks great. It has a great classic Strat tone.
I have no dislikes!
Great neck, perfect frets, tremendous playability. Nice wood grain showing through Sapphire blue. Tight neck pocket. American made hardware. It is made in the USA, so it's as good as the American Standard Strat.
I'm extremely pleased with this guitar and it's sound and construction. I would buy it with confidence. It's not a gamble in terms of quality or sound. John A rated this unit on 2002-11-30. Strings & Things Memphis TN. $599.00
As soon as I picked it up I thought wait a minute.. this is different. It was lighter than I expected. I left the shop and couldn't get it off my mind. I returnrd and purchsed it 2 weeks later (it wasn't a planned purchse). Owned a strat, a couple of teles and a les paul over the years. Sold them traded them. I was never truly comfortable with any electric till this one came along. The sound is great. Good sustain which I did not expect. Extremely playable.
To be honest I like it as it is. Straight forward.
It appears to be tight. Form, fit and function are all I would expect. Really like the finish. No frills but it appears that Fender did very well by executing the basics.
As I said I wasn't planning on this one but just by a chance encounter I realzed I found what I may have been looking for for years. Again it may not meet the needs of everyone but I'm very impressed. TLC in Memphis rated this unit on 2002-11-27. I took some old guitars that I did not particularly like to Guitar Center. I was looking to trade for something new. I say the Highway 1 Strat priced at $599.00 and was surprised to see "made in USA." Once I tried it, it became a must have.
I like everything about this guitar. I had an American Standard Strat and I like this one better. The action is wonderful, and I think that pickups sound awesome. It has a nice body weight, and I like that dull finish. I think this is a guitar that is going to look even better as it ages.
At this point, there is nothing that I do not like about this guitar.
American made, fender single coils, maple neck.
