Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar Reviews 4 / 5 based on 1 reviewsI came across this guitar at the Guitar Center. The second I saw this guitar I started rocking out on it. The sound quality is nice and the slim body and light weight make it easier to play. It has a nice sound with any amp you play with and I perfer the Crybaby distortion pedal with this guitar. I paid $794 for this guitar and it was worth it. It is definitley worth any money you put into it, but don't go paying $1,500 for it. You can get this sick axe for cheaper.
I like the color and the light weight it has. It has great pickups and awesome sound quality. This is a great guitar for semi-beginners.The peghead is pretty cool except you might want to watch out, the fingerboard or (neck) that connects to the peghead is kinda a small joint so watch out. Don't snap it off.
The whammy bar however tends to do something later on in a year or two. It makes the inside of the bridge have your strings break easier. I wouldn't recomend this guitar for new beginners or extreme players. If you are really good then just go with the Gibson Angus SG. In 1-2 years the pick guard tends to wear down and becomes into bad color. But besides that your set to go. And make sure you don't have Fender strings. They are horrible.
The construction unit doesn't have much to say. This guitar is just a mass production guitar so they are mostly just built, not like a custom hand built guitar. The quality is on a scale from 1-10, I'd give it a 7.
I think the bottom line is if you just want to rock out and have some fun just buy this guitar. Don't go saving $2,000 and blow it on the best guitar and ends up you can't play. And the price for this guitar varies so shop around. Michael Lim rated this unit on 2002-12-24.
