Hondo Les Paul Copy Reviews
2 / 5 based on 2 reviewsTraded a broken Applause Stratocaster copy for it.
It was fun to beat up.
You know how most tuners will actually turn? Well the Hondo featured chrome plated plastic tuner heads that just stripped themselves out on the shaft and then snapped in half. All tuning of the guitar had to be done with a pair of plyers. After a while of playing I became the fastest plyers in the west.
The neck felt hollow and bowed really bad. Non-arched top, which made it very difficult to play. Chrome plated everything flaked off over time. Had a peculiar feeling that the thick, thick hi-gloss paint was the only thing holding the beast together.
If you can still find one of these guitars, please only use it as a throw around guitar or as a joke gift. Very unplayable!

Garage sale $20.00, bought 'cuz it looked good
Nice color (black with binding) humbuckers sound Great in another guitar (plopped them into an Ibanez RX)
tuning? I've heard it was possible on some guitars, but not on this one. Strange considering the action looked pretty good on it, but if you go anywhere past the 4th fret, you're f@#$%d.
I'm wondering what the standards for quality are, and if the quality control peeps went home early that day... the truss rod RATTLES IN ITS CAVITY!!!!!
I got this from a garage sale.. I thought it was a good deal at the time, and the only good thing about it is the pickups, and I ripped those out to put in a squealy Ibanez, they sound great in there, so it's not *all* bad :)
Also, I ripped off the little plastic knobs and put them on my Gibson XPL Flying V, those worked well, too! (check out my review on it!)
Um, avoid this if you're looking for something to play, but if you need bits for another guitar or two... this might work out.
