5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsI paid $418 for this smokin' axe at Guitar Center. I was in the market for something Floyd Rose-less but could also shred, and this guitar can really shred. It's a Randy Rhoads style guitar, probably from 1994 but it plays beautifully.
The very thin, flat neck on this thing is what I like a lot about this guitar. Most of my buddies like those thick, almost C-shaped necks, I don't understand why because the neck on my guitar lets you reach all over the fretboard and move around very quickly. The shape of the guitar is pretty cool too; it came in a midnight blue-ish color with a black bridge pickup volume, a black neck pickup volume, a black tone knob, and a three-way toggle switch. It came with the stock Jackson humbuckers which I have to say, are very, very powerful. But in the future I see myself replacing these pick ups with Seymour Duncans,not because the pickups are bad, beacause they aren't, they're really heavy and grinding, but beacause I feel that Seymours would really complement this guitar. The string through design works very well with this axe.
I really don't know what I don't like about this guitar beside the fact that I had to buy a $108 hardshell case with it. It's perfect for metal and for me. Originally, there was some buzzing but small adjustments got rid of that. I honestly don't think there is a single flaw on this guitar.
The construction is nice and solid, but of course, I am being really careful with this gem.The guitar is light which works for me, but feels as solid as a rock.
Overall, if you are a fan of anything heavy, this guitar is made for it. Even some clean tones can be acheived with this monster. From the looks to the sound this guiatr has it made.
