Yamaha Pacifica 112 Maple Reviews 5 / 5 based on 2 reviewsI got this as my first guitar at a local music store in Ontario, Canada. I paid about $350 Cdn. for it. I really liked the look of it and the price. Seeing as how I'd have never played a guitar before I got it, I had to go with the salesman's recomendations.
When I got it home, I started to fool around a bit and discovered that it has a really nice sound to it. There isn't much extra 'noise' or feedback when you play it. I also really liked the look of the maple fingerboard and the darker body.
The only thing I dislike is the placement of the volume control. If you get strumming it pretty hard, its easy to turn down the volume.
The overall quality of the unit was pretty good for a beginner guitar. Lets put it this way, it hasn't fallen apart yet!
Its a really good guitar for people just starting out. Joe Shmoe rated this unit on 2002-03-25. Bought the guitar from Guitar Slingers in Berkhampsted, UK. Cost 179 notes.
Looks good, Plays good, Sounds good. Nice selection of pickups with 5-ways pickup selector. Tone and Volume controls work well, vibrato works well, came ready tuned and good to go straight out of the box.
Humbucker is slightly loose.. Apparently this is normal. Tone could be a little bit better, but it still sounds as good as a guitar three times the price.
Brilliant all round quality and construction. Supposedly there's meant to be a problem with the output jack coming loose or something like that. I've not seen this yet.
Mental beginners guitar.. If you're thinking about buying an electric guitar, start with this one. It is absolutely superb. Eddy the Newbie. rated this unit on 2002-01-13.
