Callaham Vintage S Bridge Reviews 5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsThis is the Vintage S series bridge made by Callaham Vintage Guitars. Basically Bill Callaham takes vintage or current production guitars and finds simple ways to vastly improve their tone, performance, playability and tuning.
I heard about this bridge from a fellow guitar player. I had a Made In Mexico Fender Strat that sounded good and played great, but the bridge wasn't happening. I was breaking strings and well the hardware Fender is using on their Standard line is not exactly much to write home about.
Make sure to be careful when you order. Callaham offers a few different packages depending on your guitar. Most likely they will have a direct replacement. The Bridge Upgrade Kit for my Made in Mexico Strat was $130.
The Callaham Upgrade kit was easy to install. After all was said and done I felt the sustain was better and I feel that I could run over the tremelo arm with a truck and it wouldn't snap!
Price. These aren't cheap, but hey, it is good stuff and it cuts out string breakage and offers better tuning stability. So if you are a gigging musician it takes some of the headache out of guitar maintenance.
Stainless steel bridge and saddle screws. Much improved and more heavy duty nickel saddle. Stainless steel tremelo arm. The hole in the saddle is cut wider and longer for give you better intonation.
You pay for it, but this is hardware upgrading at its finest. Really take a MIM Strat from average to excellent! Billy rated this unit on 2011-03-18.
