Dampit Guitar Humidifier Reviews 5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsThis is the Dampit Guitar Humidifier. It was invented by Ralph Hollander. It is a cheap and easy invention to keep your guitars, specifically acoustic guitars humidified during the winter. This product is also built to work for Violins, Violas, Cello, Upright Bass, Mandolins, Tympanys and Bass Drums.
I picked this up at my local music store. I already tried the Planet Waves brand humidifier, but I wanted to see what else was out there. These sell for $10 new.
I like that it is simple to use. It is built cost effective. Humidification is very important however, we are musicians, we don't always have the extra cash to drop on fancy humidifiers.
They give you a card with it that changes colors depending on the humidity. I must say this is better than nothing, however I suggest going the extra mile and buying a hygrometer. You can find one at your local Walmart for $5
It looks like it's built for the job. I don't think it could handle much abuse. I would not think twice about putting in my guitar. I do not believe it could damage the finish in anyway.
Great unit to buy. I humidify my music room, but this unit is great when I take my acoustic out on those cold winter nights. If it breaks or I lose it, I'd surely by another. Billy rated this unit on 2010-12-07.
