Ernie Ball Jr Active Volume Pedal Reviews 5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsI've played bass professionally for 45 years. The Ernie Ball Jt Volume pedal is standard size for a wah or volume pedal, a bit larger than a Crybaby. Chrome with black rubber pad on pedal.
Purchase in 1996 from Musiciansfriend.com for $70. I wanted a volume pedal so I could approximate upright bass bowed sounds on my electric bass.
Well made and nothing to go wrong with it. It has basically one moving part. Mine is the active version with a 25kOhm pot optimized for active instrument pickups. It does a good job with a minimum of effort. There's no sudden surge of volume at a distinct point and no sudden dropoff, either, as with some cheaper pedals. Smooth action, and a tuner out jack function with the heel of the pedal down for silent tuning. Its reasonably priced, too.
Can't think of one negative thing about this pedal.
Heavy duty steel construction. Nonslip rubber feet; nonslip rubber foot pad.
The Ernie Ball Jr active volume pedal is a reasonably price unit that does just what it is supposed to do. No batteries to change, no muss, no fuss. It allows very smooth volume adjustment for active instruments. A passive version is also available for the same price Laklander rated this unit on 2010-01-19.
