Fretlord Musical instrument Lighting Systems Inc. FRETLASER Reviews 5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsI saw an ad in GuitarWorld about this laser lighting effect for guitar and bass at www.fretlord.com . The site was very informative and had alot to digest. It took a few minutes to understand how it worked. But once I figured it out, I decided to try it. I have been looking for something to light up my fretbaord for a long time without having to spend a ton of cash. It was $79.99 + 6.00 shipping @ www.fretlord.com
I was a little sceptical at first. They had a 30 money back guarentee. So I felt more comfortable about trying it. It mounted on the bridge intonation screws with a tie strap. It has a rubber mount to keep from scratching my bridge. When I turned it on, was I surprised! It lit up the strings, frets, my pick, and especially when I started to play, my finger tips on the fretboard. I had a great time adjusting the focus and getting different lighting effects. I played a gig with it and turned it on during a lead. I had at least 20 people come up and ask me what I did to make my hands light up like that. Two guys that played in a band offered me money to sell them the one I had on my guitar. Crazy... It was easy to change the batteries and I didn't have to modify my guitar to install it.
I though it was pretty easy to install and use. It took some adjusting to aim it down the fretboard. I guess the only thing I thought could have been improved was that I had to mount a battery box on the body of my guitar behind the bridge. And the only color is black.
The laser casing is metal and the battery box is a black plastic with a on/off switch. Seems to be well crafted and could take a beating. The batteries are 2 AAA's and I have not had to change them yet.
This was the most intense accessory I have ever used.. Well worth the investment. I think I'll try their Fiber Optic lighing systems next. wevel rated this unit on 2002-07-17.
