Gruv Gear Fret Wraps Reviews 5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsWhat the heck are Fret Wraps? I'll tell you. Maybe you have seen a speed demon, soloing monster with a hair tie or something similar on their headstock to help mute open strings, so the artist can go nasty with the two handed tapping and so on.
Gruv Gear just cleaned that idea up into a neat design.
I first noticed these right before the 2011 NAMM Show out in CA and I wanted to check them out. Of course Gruv Gear was at the trade show and I picked up a variety pack of 3 sizes. Small, medium and large.
For the set of 3 they were something like $25.
Reminds me of a Timex watch! As long as you don't lose these they should work properly forever. They grip my fretboard nicely and I can adjust them accordingly.
None really. I have only seen them for sale on the Gruv Gear site, but I'm sure they will catch on eventually.
Really one size fits all unless you play a 6 or 7 string bass, then you will want to opt for the larger size.
You fit the end through a plastic loop and it folds over and connects with Velcro. Like I said before it is similar to a sports style watch.
No more raiding your girlfriend's bathroom for hair ties and scrunchies! Oh yeah, the easy on/off system of the Fret Wrap is cool too. Billy rated this unit on 2011-04-19.
