SKB 3i 1610 Reviews 5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsI have been playing 6- and 12- string acoustic guitar for over 35 years. I primarily play solo but have played in a couple of bands. My musical tastes for listening are all over the map but I call my playing style "psychedelic country gospel."
I purchased this for $75.00 through Musician's Friend. I wanted a hardshell case for transporting my small FX unit, spare batteries, cables, harmonicas, and what-not.
1: Hardshell case--not cloth gigbag.
2: Foam inserts are scored in 1/2"-inch squares--so slots for items can be cut to fit.
There is nothing to dislike about the unit as far as it's quality and construction. The only drawback is that if you want to change the configuration of the interior--you have to purchase new inserts and SKB does not publish the cost/availability information for the inserts on their website. You have to place a call to customer service.
I had owned an SKB case for a guitar previously and was excited to find this unit available. I have come to expect high quality from SKB and this does not disappoint. It is built to military grade specifications. For those who want something larger--it does come in larger sizes--for an additional cost.
Forget cloth gigbags. Buy one of these to give your accessories as much protection as your instrument(s). Dave rated this unit on 2006-11-09.
