Scratch Pad Black Velvet Scratch Pad Guitar Finish Protector Reviews 5

I started jammin' on guitar around 12 years old. I had a friend in the neighborhood, Al aka "Fuzzy", who was a couple of years older than me and Fuzzy played that guitar like it was an extra limb. So I started hangin' around with Fuzzy and his Brother Denis who played the drums. They use to jam at there house in the garage, located off an alley, in Chicago. That's all it took and I was hooked...Fuzzy taught me the basic's and said the rest was up to me..."develop your own sound and style", he said...the rest is history. From Country in the '70's, Heavy Metal in the "80"s to Blues in the "90's...each one done my way...just like Fuzzy said. I haven't seen him in over 25 years..who knows, maybe he'll read this and know just what gift he gave.

I was playin' a gig and the band that opened for us had a guitarist that had rack of guitars that would make any axe slinger drool over. As he was tune his stuff up I started rappin' with him about his collection and I noticed he had these pads on the backs of some of his guitars. So I asked what they were and he told me that they're Scratch Pads and that they kept him from whacking the hell out of the finish of his guitars. He said he bought them online for about 25 bux...I thought damn...what a cool thing. I went home and googled, found the site www.SCRATCHPADUSA.COM and bought 2 black...best investment I've made.

The thing I like most about this product is I can put it off and on anytime I want. It's a cool kind of gel on the back that has little micro suction cups...so it's never permanent or sticky. It covers the area great were I normally ware out the finish.

Hmmmm...can't think of anything...maybe they could come out with a green pad to go with my puke green Jackson :)

This thing is thin and form fitting but...it protects like a friggin' pitbull. The front is a velvet kind of feel and the back is the no adhesive gel stuff that stays on without any hassle...I would give the quality a ten.

What else can I say...I see all kinds of things that guitar sites try to hock but, Scratch Pad is the first product I have run across that has a return on the investment. Go ahead, try and sell or trade a beat up axe...GC will give you twenty cents on the dollar if your lucky.
