Stretcha String Stretcha Reviews 5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsThe String Stretcha is a product built by the Stretcha company. Basically it is a hand tool built specifically to help you stretch your brand new guitar strings without have to grease them up.
I write a review blog and end up getting some products sent to me to try out. The Stretcha was a fun item to test out. Brand new the String Stretcha will cost you about $10. I have not seen it in stores yet, but I imagine it will be shortly.

It is simple to figure out. What you do is, change your strings, tune your brand new strings up to pitch and then get the bottom of the string over the top front groove of the String Stretcha and then catch the back of the string on the back groove. Then you pull back on the handle and glide easily from the bridge up until about the first fret before the nut and go back. I only need to go back and forth once on my Strat, but heavier strings may need more times to fully break them in.
None at all that I can think of. The product works well and is a no nonsense purchase.
The hand tool is a heavy duty plastic. In my review I smashed it around, tried it on my 5 string basses and it kept on ticking.
A simple way to effectively stretch and break in your new guitar strings. Not a 100% necessity, but if you find yourself setting up guitars often this comes in handy. Billy rated this unit on 2011-05-21.
