It is a new idea and concept that I have yet to hear or see anyone try. The product is cheap enough to decide if it works well for you.
Right now there is only a model made for 6 inline tuners such as a Telecaster, Stratocaster or Ibanez style guitar. What about acoustics or Les Pauls?
The truth is there are plenty of other variables in the tuning of your instrument and the Tuner Guard only stops one of them.
It is built to fit any instrument with 6 inline tuning pegs. It seems like the product will hold up under the normal wear and tear involved in instrument handling.
The Tuner Guard is not for everyone. I would suggest it to a young kid or a person that travels with their Strat style guitar in a gig bag. Billy rated this unit on 2011-05-22.
