It's two pieces of translucent polycarbonate that mount to any wall or even the ceiling and hold the guitar by the strap buttons. The hanger never even touches the guitar! It locks in securely and comes out with the flick of a finger. When the guitar is on the wall you can barely see the hanger and because it's translucent, it's hardly noticeable when the guitar of off the wall. The thing is genius. The model I bought hangs guitars like Strats and Teles but they have models that hang Les Pauls with the angled headstocks and SG's with the strap button on the back.

No mess on the neck of my guitar and it's up off the floor where it can't get knocked over. I also liked that I can hang it at any angle I want - diagonal, vertical, horizontal, upside down...whatever. I also like that it doesn't look ugly when it's off the wall. Easy to install. All you need is a drill and a screwdriver.
Nothing. Best guitar hanger I've ever found. Wish they had a model for acoustic guitars.
The thing is tough. I think it could hold the heaviest electric guitars no problem. The brackets are strong and the moveable one is easy to flex to remove or replace the guitar. The packaging is cool too.
It's definitely worth $20. I've got my guitar up exactly where and how I want it. The flexibility the hanger allows for putting your guitar anywhere is awesome! McRae rated this unit on 2010-05-05.
