Danelectro French Toast Octave Distortion Reviews 2 / 5 based on 1 reviews£30 from a second hand shop (it wasn't second hand though)
It looks cool... it feels high quality and it's easy to use.. the batteries last quite a long time. That's literally all though
The sound really sucks. It's loud enough but I've had mine for about 6 months now and I've only ever had a half decent sound out of it. Although it's fairly okay if you want a screaming (albeit very muddy) distortion for solos, it's not very versatile at all. Turning the distortion and level down just gives you a dull fizz, like the sound you get when you plug in.. except constantly with very little tone. It's nice and green though.
The unit feels okay, it's heavy duty and all, but the front caved in after a few weeks of use (Cleverly fixed with gaffa tape)
I would only buy this unit again if I had money to waste. Cameron Clement rated this unit on 2003-12-30.
