Danelectro Milkshake Chorus Reviews 4 / 5 based on 1 reviewsChristmas gift, but purhcased at Carroll's Music in Lewiston, ME. Cost around $35 I believe. I wanted a chorus pedal and this one seemed cheap yet reliable. Recommended by the store workers.
The size and design are very nice and the unit produces a very typical chorus effect. It can be very rich and turn some basic chord progressions into tear-jerking ballads. It's setup is incredibly easy to use (two dials and the on button).
The sound doesn't seem to change much when the dials are changed around. However, I think is just chorus for the most part. I don't really like using this pedal alone. I generally couple it with a delay or wah in order to make it sound cool. It's tone can be cheesy at times, a little too 80s, but we all love the 80s a little. One problem I found with this pedal was that after using it for probably a combined time of 2 hours it acquired a horrible puttering/distortion noise. I thought it was broken and took it to the store. It turned out that the battery was dead already (I didn't leave it plugged into anything, don't worry). So that seemed annoying, but I bought an ac adaptor and my problem has been fixed.
It seems well built, although plastic. Like all Dano products it seems reliable and good, but cheap enough that no tears are shed when it breaks.
This is your basic chorus pedal and for the money that isn't a bad thing. It's not the best Dano product, but it's worth purchasing. Wwwwwhoopie Goldberg rated this unit on 2002-01-11.
